  1. Eat as little cooked fat as you can. Cooked fat is dangerous to the body, particularly when it is unsaturated fat. The free radicals produced by the cooking fat can cause damage to your cells, and are linked to heart disease. You will find that reducing fat overall will be a good way to improve your overall health, and it will be worth it to reduce the amount of fat that you consume in your diet.
  2. Try and get more protein in your diet. Protein contains amino acids, which are the building blocks of muscle. Seeing as muscle burns more energy than fat does, the more muscle you have the less likely you will be to gain weight. Eating low fat proteins are the best, especially when it comes to dairy products. Eggs are an excellent protein, and fish is one of the best that you can eat. Red wine is high in flavonoids, and thus can help your body overall. However, the rest of the alcoholic drinks that you consume are usually high in fat and sugar both, particularly beer. Limit your alcohol consumption to reduce the risk of high blood pressure, liver disorders, and even tumors.
  5. Drink a lot of water. While drinking more than 2 or 3 liters per day can be harmful for you, you will need to drink at least that much according to your level of physical activity.
